The best way to experience the wide-open spaces of wild Africa is with a local company. African MANIA is a Tanzanian owned tour company based in Arusha, Tanzania.
Arusha is a bustling town situated at the base of Mount Meru and located 70 km (45 miles) west of Moshi (on the southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro). Arusha is the base camp for most safaris to Tanzania's famous northern circuit, which includes famous game parks such as the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, as well as a treasure trove of smaller, less well-known parks.

The founder, Tom Maasa, was born and raised in Karatu, Tanzania, 75 miles from Arusha, the hub of tourism for Tanzania's northern circuit. Tom attended a tourism school in Arusha and worked as a driver/guide for over 15 years with two of the biggest companies in Tanzania, before starting African MANIA in 1998.
All of our drivers/guides are able to communicate in English, as well as many native languages. Our Kilimanjaro guides and porters are also English speaking and are extremely experienced ensuring that your trip to the "roof of Africa" will be a safe and memorable one.
Many of our drivers/guides have spent much of their lives in the bush; they know where to find the wildlife and where to avoid the crowds. If you're after "wild Africa" they'll get you there!
Our bush cooks are trained to satisfy a variety of discerning palates, often mixing traditional African fare with international dishes.
African MANIA takes great care in ensuring that every guest is safe and comfortable. All of our drivers/guides have been professionally trained and are certified by the Tanzania Board of Tourism. Our Kilimanjaro mountain guides and porters are also extremely experienced.
In addition, all of our Land Cruisers are regularly maintained and serviced and are equipped with radio call and first aid kits in case of emergency.
